Have you seen the Awesome photos on Google +? The new feature dubbed AUTO AWESOME 
has a range of abilities. It analyzes your backed up photos and searches for a specific criteria to group your photos and create awesome photos. There are several different categories ranging from series photos grouped into a small loop MOTION, picking the best shot over multiple group shots of each individual them merging them to make a SMILE photo and a few more.
I can generate PANO pictures looking for similar backgrounds that overlap and automatically merge for panoramic views from regular pictures taken on your phone or device. MIX searches for similar backgrounds on multiple photos with different subjects and makes a collage for you to enjoy. My favorite is the MOTION so far. I have great stop animated loops of my niece cheer leading, my daughter running up the driveway being silly, and many more.
Find me on Google+ to see examples of what AWESOME photos can produce for you. *Note that AWESOME photos are on by default. To turn it off choose Settings from the control panel on Google+ and uncheck AUTO AWESOME. Also you can tell which photos are AUTO AWESOME photos by this icon on each generated picture.
